DancecrasherRocksteady

There´s pretty exactly one month to go until all those Best-Of-2007-lists and -mixes will flood the airwaves a.k.a. the web. Alrite, the Pitchfork, Heatwave & John Eden from Woofah published their favourite tunes of the year already a few days ago.

Dancecrasher, however, say fuck ´07 and runs a countdown of the 100 greatest rocksteady 45s ever released. They started with numbers 100 to 91 this week, offering infos and a sound snippets for every single single that made it into the list. That´s what I call an auditive Advent calendar. (via Uncarved)

Launch of “The World´s 1st Streetwear Online TV Channel”

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Highsnobiety says so and Freshness Mag does, too. And ye, it´s true: Karmaloop.tv - the new TV channel of the groundbreaking online streetwear platform Karmaloop, launched this week. It´s quite funny to watch if you don´t know what else to do with yourself. My favourite pieces so far are the episodes starring the boss of L-R-G (wearing an unbelievably stupid looking golden teddybear chain, see above) and the women behind “Married to the Mob” (who actually admits that all ideas for her most successful pieces either came from “one of her favourite artists” or her “witty” 17-yr-old muse).

AfflictedYardJapaneseChicks

Pssst, while you might think that after his first art show, P. D. Rickards has moved into a house next to Lee Perry enjoying Christmas time in the land of milk-chocolate and honeys a.k.a. Switzerland, he went back to the gully side to shoot Japanese Dancehall divas and join The Alliance (don´t worry, P. D.´s not going to start deejaying, he´s just gonna work with the same agent that manages Bounty Killer and his gang, too).

AliciaKeys

Alicia Keys proves to be pretty serious about Reggae despite not braiding her hair anymore. After she stepped on stage with Jr. Reid, Beenie and Chaka Demus and Pliers shortly, an official Reggae RMX of “No One” which features Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley now leaked. Get it here.
