Blaise Belville: Live Mix

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

BlaiseBelville

I recommend downloading this live mix without even having heard it yet. Why? It´s by Blaise Belville,

Rabble rouser, entrepreneur, DJ and promote,

it´s featured on Fly Music, it has a dope tracklisting and the tune on the yute´s  profile page sounds sick.

ZShare it now.

“Brooklyn - Man a Top Shotta”

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

COTS

Even though the riddim has been floating around for some time, it seems to just really take off. Talk is of the “Craziest” riddim which is produced by Matt Shadetek and which is laarge (also check the much more laid back but still kicking Ghishlain Poirier version of it), trust me. (If you don´t trust me, trust the BK yutes: 1, 2, 3).
Amongst others, the selection features a boom-tune from 77Klash and Jahdan called “Brooklyn Anthem”.

Btw: “BK Anthem” seems to only be the start for what is going to be a series of heavy releases by 77Klash (whose “Code for the Streets” EP is to drop in April) and his new posse “Iron Shirt”. Check the men´s myspaces and the remix Matt Shadetek did of South Rakkas´ “Mad Again” (feat. Johnny Osbourne) to get an idea of what BK will sound like in ´08.

I don´t know what the weather is like where you folks chill right now, but in Leipzig, Germany - this is my current homebase - it looks like spring finally is able to kick winter´s fat white cold ass.

Time to open the windows and let the hood know which music ones into. To leave no dout about one´s taste, I recommend to start with these five mixes:

Saturday morning: HVW8 Podcast Vol. 10: Live at the BBQ Reggae Jamdown (download)
Saturday afternoon: Federation Invasion Podcast #45 (45 shootout - download)
Saturday evening SoulForce ls. Jr. Blender - Remix Conference 3 (rmx is mothafriggin dead - get it here)
Saturday night: Kraddy on BreaksFM (thanks Jack for pointing me to this one! - download)
Sunday afternoon: Resident Advisor Podcast RA091: Pole (subscribe and get it here)

Must read collector´s item: “Woofah”-Magazine #1

Woofah

Yesterday was finally the day, I got hold of Woofah´s debut issue. And it was most definitely worth the weeks of waiting.

To make it short: Content-wise, Woofah is the best mag I´ve read in years (basically, it gave me the same feel that the German underground HipHop-publication “Woohaa” gave me about 10 years ago), putting together information about almost all of the music that is the soundtrack to my everyday life.

I mean, I knew this zine is gonna be outstanding as I´ve been following the blogs of many of Woofah´s contributors for quite a while now. But it even tops my expectations. For sure, the staff could step up their game when it comes to the layout, but hey - better wicked articles and a simple standard look than the other way round, ee?

Look out for issue #2 which is supposed to hit the stores soon. Best thing: the seen.-boutique will be one of them as we keep on adding the baddest music mags out there to our stock.

UpliftmentInternational

Mighty Flo from Upliftment Intl., the sound from the infamous Germaica camp (Leipzig, Germany), presents “On the Rock” - a nice mix combining the best dancehall-tunes of 2k7 with the hottest of early ´08.
