Listening to the current Slang Tang podcast for breakfast, I strongly recommend checking out Sonido del Principe´s myspace. Also, DJ Negro´s “Mundo Querido” and Daniel Haaksman´s remix of Madera Limpia´s “Loco” are pretty mental.

Wow, it has been quite a while since I last put stuff up here. I originally planned to constantly blog from NYC, but the weather turned out to be just too sweet, the people we met just too nice and the nights we went out just too long for me being able to find the time to do so. Right now, I´m summarizing all the stuff that made offline life in BK, the LES and around very enjoyable.
In the meantime, I strongly recommend to read FIRST (mad many updates recently) and DJ C´s mini-essay about the future of turntables, look at the Fader blog´s review of the fashion week in JA, listen to this tropical mix from Geko Jonez (Dutty Artz), check the first tune from Roots Manuva´s new album and use this tool in case you´re still bored.

You know which side seen. is on, right (if not: the upcoming shirt release will tell)? However, I just felt bored for a second and let Google Trends tell me about the (online) popularity of the two ever-feuding Jamaican deejays.
While I´m messing around with the navigation of our website (how does it look on IE btw?) and preparing our releases in spring (e.g. Afflicted Yard combination #02, Walshy Fire combination #01), the seen. family is invading the world.
Above you see my man Stefan who is chilling in NCY with his brother Decent Don (Everest Soundsystem) watching the Knicks playing the Pistons. Pictures from them visiting Mavado´s first live appearance in the States and Dizzee Rascal´s show in Brooklyn will follow.
In the meantime, Gabe, the master of graphics at seen., has moved to Kingston for another three months to collect material for his final design school project, help Peter Dean Rickards with FIRST magazine and of course pushing seen. another step forward. Last week he hit the ground and is now setting up his “little office” in downtown.
This quote from Shaggy´s “Rude Dub Wi Want” (Champagne International - VIP riddim) was Gabriel Heatwave´s Badman Commandment 8 out of 10 in Woofah #1 (series t.b.c. in #2). Don´t know though if badman are allowed to measure the time they don´t have to hesitate with a G-Shock (see “Rastafarian Pack” above) out of all things… (via High Snobiety, available here).
